(more…)Antwerp-based interdisciplinary, mixed-media artist Çifel Hüseyin is joining wpZimmer for a two-week residency where he’ll be focussing on Displacing Belongings – a project that strengthens the boundaries of different disciplines as if it is a progress of re-imagining the connection between beings, things, happenings, and the environment we live in together; which then unfolds as an interdisciplinary research process that premises an artistic and creative discovery of the passage of time through interactive, spontaneous and temporary encounters with different personas.
Choreographic artist and performer Marcos Simoes and performer, scenographer and dramaturgist Pauline Brun are joining each other for a residency at wpZimmer for the coming two weeks. During their stay they focus on Tie-Tool where ‘misunderstandings’ are the center piece and thought of think of as something to be considered, something valuable. They see it both as a visual and a choreographic tool more than a subject of work.
For the next two weeks, we welcome artist and textile and fashion designer Lan-Hsin,Tu while she works on ONE OBJECT, ONE SERIES III – A research on the exploration of material culture, the relationship between bodies and wearable objects, and the thought of using the body as an interface to express emotion. Her artistic practice will be executed through a series of photography, performance, drawings, and wearable sculptures.
On Friday June 17th, wpZimmer hosts a “Poetry and Film” evening in the frame of TOPOS 3: Evening School of Gentle Disarming. The program was made possible by writer and owner of queer bookshop ‘Kartonnen Doos’ Johanna Pas and Sirah Foighel Brutmann and Eitan Efrat who work in the audiovisual field.
The evening will highlight the role of film and poetry in the social mobilization processes through five different films, as well as a poetry and fairytale reading by Johanna Pas.
