‘Ancestral Voices’ by Céline Gaza is an honor to her female lineage, an attempt to break the traumatic cycle by voicing the pain(s) of her ancestors.

Throughout her practices, Céline Klara Gaza uses meditation, movement and voice practices to counter injustices and examine traumas in order to transform them.

After months of collective writing and collaborating, we can finally let the word out… Supported through the Creative Europe programme, wpZimmer, Baltic Art Center, Studio ALTA, Lavanderia a Vapore, ARIA and GRASS present the collaborative, ongoing project: On Mobilisation

For the coming two weeks, we are joined by artist and theatre maker Anna Schlooz and artist, curator and teacher Cristina Planas Leitão in residency.

From January 16th until 29th, we are joined by performer and researcher Nathaniel Moore. In collaboration with Julia Rubies Subiros and Tilhenn Klapper, they will be working on ‘The Terms of Dance’, where they research a dance practice which witnesses dance on its own terms, pointing to movement in itself.

Nathaniel Moore will be one of the artists sharing a glimpse of the process during our fifth installment of Last Month tonight that will be taking place this Friday. To discover more about the work, head here!

We kick off the new year at wpZimmer with a collaborative residency with Bâtard featuring Laurent Delom and Asa Horvitz. Until January 15th, both artists will be continuing their artistic process, each on their respective works.

Also part of our last residencies of this year is Ukrainian biologist and theatre maker Ira Melkonyan. She will be joined by artist and theatre maker Jimmy Grima later during the residency as they’ll both be working on “Blood Thirst, or Eat Our Humble Pie“.

Chilean performer, choreographer and sound artist Paula Montecinos Oliva has joined us in residency for the coming two weeks. Joined by her collaborator from next Monday on, they will focus on the performative research “Unbound”.

We round up November with a new residency, inviting caretaker and choreographer Jija Sohn, Researcher and dramaturg Julia Reist and artist, therapist and caretaker Aleksandra Lemm. During their two-week residency they’ll be working on Landing on Feathers – Rehearsing the Not Yet.

With the première of Whatchamacallit getting closer, dancer, choreographer and performer Charlotte Goesaert joins us in residency for two weeks. With Whatchamacallit, Charlotte invites us to ask ourselves: how do we use and deploy our bodies to be loved or to succeed? How do we deal with the objectification of our bodies and how does it affect us as human beings?
