We round up November with a new residency, inviting caretaker and choreographer Jija Sohn, Researcher and dramaturg Julia Reist and artist, therapist and caretaker Aleksandra Lemm. During their two-week residency they’ll be working on Landing on Feathers – Rehearsing the Not Yet.

With the première of Whatchamacallit getting closer, dancer, choreographer and performer Charlotte Goesaert joins us in residency for two weeks. With Whatchamacallit, Charlotte invites us to ask ourselves: how do we use and deploy our bodies to be loved or to succeed? How do we deal with the objectification of our bodies and how does it affect us as human beings?

For two weeks, Philippine and Paloma dedicate their residency period to meeting in the performative and spactial aspects of their research as they work towards a public performative presentation at the end of the residency.

For two weeks, we are joined by artist, writer, curator and performance maker Ira Brand and co-founder of ccSPORT Željko Blace. During their residency at wpZimmer, they’re both taking a work they have been working on previously and taking that to a next phase.

Walk through the remnants of collective encounters, read between the lines and hear the whispers echoing from the different work spaces, TOPOS 4 invites you to be a witness of its process as it further unfolds.

For TOPOS 4, we invited LA/Vienna-based nonbinary artist and researcher Mary Maggic, who works within the fuzzy intersections of body and gender politics and capitalist ecological alienations. For three days, Mary will host a workshop on hormone hacking: Performing the Sublime Sea of Co-Mattering.

With TOPOS, wpZimmer sets the scene for a collective residency to take form where different artists are invited to gather around a theme. For this fourth installment, wpZimmer invited artist Isabel Burr Raty as a curator to shape the TOPOS around questions coming from her practice. Isabel’s work puts the sci-fi of the body as a thematic on the table. In this process of shaping the Topos, she was joined by co-curators Ingrid Vranken and Gosie Vervloessem (wpZimmer).

On September 26th we were joined by two new residencies as we were rounding up the month. Each with their respective artistic practices, Noha Ramadan and Carolina Mendonca embarked on a next phase of their work – which you can discover here!

wpZimmer invites you to its fourth session of LAST MONTH TONIGHT: A bi-monthly gathering joining residents and the wpZimmer community exploring a question, a practice, a problem or an inspiring text that was encountered by the artists during their residency.
It’s not a pitch, presentation or a showing, it’s a get-together where we sit around artistic questions in an informal setting, accompanied by drinks and snacks.
