Meet Loucka Fiagan.

Rapper, abstract and electronic music producer, spoken word artist, playwright and performer. While having tentacles in multiple disciplines, Loucka is also co-founder of the experimental hip hop band The Eskaton 115 with Vinco Zierowan, and of the multimedia performative duo Wedntknwyet with Oscar Cassamajor; and a member of the publishing house of young writers: le Mot:Lame.

On Saturday April 29th, Mary Szydlowska opens Cleaning Oracles to an audience during a work-in-progress presentation. Cleaning Oracles forms a performative research space, in which one can speculate on oracles and future telling potential of cleaning.

While in residency, Adrijana fantasizes about the place and a specific environment where the different artistic concerns can be met, reflecting on the proposals for co-learning and sharing artistic processes that she has developed in the past years: card-reading about artistic anxieties, workshop on horror and nail art reading sessions.

We rely on words to communicate and to understand each other. At the same time, words play an important role in how we understand ourselves.

Kevin Fay brings ‘Conversing with Masculinity’ to wpZimmer for a second time! This time, the artist and researcher opens up the residency space to an audience, hosting three workshops. In an intersectional practice offering a safe, open space, we read, we listen, we play, we create, and we move – carefully loosening up strictures that language all too often imposes.

Eli Steffen and Sophie Guisset as joined by her team Enis Turan and Cee Füllemann are both new in residency at wpZimmer for two weeks. Both Sophie and Elioa are focusing on developing new work: Sophie Guisset with Vanilla and Elioa Steffen with Psalm for the Monstrous.

The word is out, Beyond the Black Box lands in Antwerp for a second time! The festival that breaks out of boxes and colors outside the lines of classical genres presents a new four-day program that will take place in different corners of the city. We bring together artistic practices that maneuver at the intersection of disciplines, exploring their boundaries and forging new connections. 

Conceptual artist, curator and creative producer Sandra Sara Oklobdzija is joining us in residency to continue working on “The School of Two-Sided Integration”.

As an artist, artivist and researcher, Sara is mostly interested in creating, but also generating and documenting the process of community-making through engaged artistic practice.

For the coming two weeks, we’re welcoming Nada Gambier and her collaborators Mark Etchells, Micha Goldberg, Edurne Rubio and Vic Grevendonck to wpZimmer.

During their stay, they’ll be further unraveling the work “True Fiction”, which centers the topic of artistic and social enclosures and how (institutional) borders and identities can be negotiated through practice.
