For the coming three weeks we embark on a new Topos Journey, introducing Ahilan Ratnamohan, Siniša Ilić, The Agency of Singular Investigations and Zorka Wollny, who will be molding the collective residency. As part of this collective residency, we are hosting multiple gatherings which we refer to as ‘The Evening School of Gentle Disarming‘ – these will be guided, shaped and facilitated by each invited artist using their own artistic practice as a tool for exploration. For more information on how to attend these gatherings and help shape the conversations, you can discover the full program here.
TOPOS 3 is supported by the City of Antwerp, The Flemish Government and c-Takt.
We introduce our third edition of TOPOS, a format enabled with the sole purpose to join our artistic community with our neighbourhood and community members. It’s a format that highlights wpZimmer’s aim to not solely act as a physical meeting place, but as a collective space for discussion and education. With The Evening School of Gentle Disarming we created a public and closed program where invited artists and participants mold conversations, exploring collective behaviour, mobilisation and demobilisation, collective imagination and alternative futures…
wpZimmer calls you to be part of TOPOS 3 – You can find more information on both the closed and public program HERE.
Joining us in residency these past two weeks is theatre maker and co-founder of collective KAK BRUSSELS Nikolas Lestaeghe.
With Alcoholistan, Nikolas sets up an interactive installation wherein he analyses the architecture of the bar setting – one that is geared towards the consumption of alcohol.
Joined by the audience, he wants to explore the symbols of a bar and examine the temptations annd recklessness that live in this setting.
Read More about Nikolas’ work and personal connection he has to his current artistic practice HERE.
Eszter Némethi’s work is no stranger to wpZimmer! Last fall we welcomed her and The School of Magical Politics as part of TOPOS2: How to be Together. These past two weeks, she joined again for a solo-residency, continuing on her practice which is a collective research into the narrative construction of society and play, games and poetry as possible sites for modeling political alternatives, different modes of being together.

Artist, performer and researcher Esteban Donoso is joined by Thiago Antunes to work Mand/inga for two weeks as they are in residency at wpZimmer. The work sets out to create an autofiction device – a genre that moves in-between autobiography and fiction- from digging into personal archives and family stories, revising different documents of family scenes such as objects, photos and dialogues.
For two weeks, Vienna-based multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker Sangam Sharma works on ‘Always coming home’ during her stay at wpZimmer. With the work, She wants to focus on the potentials of home, community and kinship and outline alternatives where there is a space for everyone and there are multiple ways and paths. Working with photography, text or titles as well as other elements, she creates (mixed-media) works that show unknown places (by blending in existing ones).
