We’re ending this month with a few new residencies. One of the artists that is joining us at wpZimmer is spoken word artist, rapper and theatre maker Anna Borodikhina who’ll be working on NIEMANDSLAND: a personal story on farewell and acceptance, about refugees and migration, gender, identity and invisibility.
For two weeks, Kenneth Cardon is in residency at wpZimmer taking his first steps as a theatre-writer for his solo-performance “Yellow Alert”. With this piece, Kenneth explores what it means to be half Thai, gay and queer in a white, heteronormative world.
Since last week, we welcomed dancer and choreographer Ehsan Hemat and dramaturg, critic and maker Yasen Vasilev at wpZimmer for a two-week residency. Their residency at wpZimmer is a final phase in their research journey of “Everything brings us back to the body”.
From April 4th until 17th we are joined by Pauline Payen who’ll be working on OSTINATO -THE Y!NEWS (working title), a research project on improvisation scores, looping pedals, diabolical machines, and mass media in the Internets. Find out more about her residency here!

New in residency this week is Icelandic dancer and choreographer Rósa Ómarsdóttir. Joined by a few collaborators, she will be working on Molta: a durational performance installation where five human performers, objects and sounds entangle and form a vibrant ecosystem which the audience becomes immersed into.

Last Fall we were joined by Biljana Radinoska and Isobel Dryburgh in residency as they worked on ‘She Can Borrow My Body If She Needs’. This week, we are joined by them again for a next phase in their practice.
