Residency

Accompany Class is a nomadic dance training and research group, organised by 7 freelancers in Brussels.

Accompany Class began in 2022 with a wish to provide free training for the dance community away from spaces heavy on self-promotion, ‘guru-ism’ and capitalist styled self-improvement. Accompany Class supports a practice-based approach to sharing space together, where the act of tending to how we engage with the space of training together takes the focus, rather than the mastery of commodified techniques. We also critically reflect on how training has been taught in our different educational experiences, and aim to offer alternative models of researching experimental pedagogical approaches.

*Nomadic Salon proposes a public format to exchange around the experiences, paradoxes, and potentials of training and collectivity. A space to reflect on dance as social practice and on the theme of Hosting. Moderated by Accompany Class, salons are intended to facilitate a gathering where we confess, define and refuse.
