Noha Ramadan

Noha Ramadan (they/her) is a choreographer, dancer and performer based in Amsterdam. In their work, they like to emphasize the transformability of the performative moment and the capacity for simultaneous identification and disidentification with assumed images and logics.

Noha also co-founded Jacuzzi, an artist-run space at the intersection of performance, visual art and time-based media in Amsterdam.

Residencies

All Our Weapons (2022)

During their residency, Noha Ramadan will be digging through their embodied archive. Based on dancing practices of watching, receiving and responding, and sometimes with the help of their friends, they will engage in resurrecting and resuscitating materials and methods of working. Underlying, is an ongoing question about tools of improvisation and live performance, considered through the notion of weapons, power and play.

(residency) (2018)

During her residency period at wpZimmer, and in preparation for a new series of works, Noha Ramadan will work around the notion of 'Haptic Technology', an umbrella term for a variety of practices based on touch.

Untitled disgressions: (the minor project) (2016)

During her 2 week residency at wpZimmer, Noha Ramadan will be working with sound artist SM Snider, exploring the relationship between signal and noise across a variety of different practices: talking, dancing, drawing, video, sound and writing.
