Mauro Antonio Pawlowski learned the tricks of the trade at an early age while playing in cover and ballroom bands. He’s very into all sorts of music genres, devours literature and pulp, follows the visual and performing arts and bingewatches film and TV.

From obscure over popular to intellectual, it’s all creative material for Mauro’s own projects (Evil Superstars, Mauro and the Grooms, Gruppo di Pawslowski, Maurits Pauwels, and others). His open mind for all kinds of influences and his unique artistic talent make him a popular and versatile instrumentalist and singer in bands like X-Legged Sally, dEUS, Club Moral, Kiss My Jazz and many others.
Mauro’s performances are famous and infamous: as a solitary troubadour, as a self-mutilating shaman with Gruppo di Pawlowski or as Somnabula, juggling pots, pans and chainsaws, a born showman who continues where others stop.

He is also in great demand as a composer and musician for theater and dance performances (Ultima Vez, Theater Zuidpool, froefroe, De Roovers, …). Not only his musical talent, but also his presence, gestures and energy on stage are considered a great asset for the quality of the performances.
Blessed with a genius eclectic brain full of demonic twists and mild madness, Mauro meanders from obscure noise and black metal to pop and schlager over poetry to visual art and performance.
