Júlia Rúbies Subirós

Júlia Rúbies Subirós (1996) is a dancer, collaborator and creator of performing arts from Barcelona, living between Barcelona and Brussels. She works on choreographic thinking through sociological / philosophical approaches, using documentary material and questioning the means of production and the formation of artistic discourse.

A graduate of P.A.R.T.S., she currently collaborates as a performer with Michiel Vandevelde, Marco d’Agostin, and collaborates as a creator with Lili M. Rampre, Pablo Esbert Lilienfeld among others. She is a recipient of the DanceWeb 2020-21 scholarship. She has published an essay together with Tessa Hall for the recent publication of the book Drumming (2020) as well as having written a composition manual commissioned by P.A.R.T.S. in collaboration with Diane Madden (rehearsal director of Trisha Brown Dance Company). Currently, she is working on Cascades, an intergenerational project where she invites artists in the experimental performing arts scene in Barcelona to share practices amongst each other.
