It is an invitation to explore and stretch the usual \nhabitat of one\u2019s physical and virtual identity. The public is invited \ninto an immersive installation, a sort of playground, where they can \nexplore and animate textile sculptures. The sculptures are based on \ndescriptions of the multi-layered metaphysical perceptions of one\u2019s \nbody, emerging out of prior one-to-one sessions. In these individual \nexplorations participants are guided into an \u2018auto-contemplation\u2019 which \nresults in a reconfiguration of the habitual perception of one\u2019s \npresence. The descriptions of these perceptions are then formed into \ntextile sculptures, or better textile bodies, each the material result \nof a momentary reconfiguration of a participant\u2019s habitat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \ntextile bodies are explored by the public entering the playground in \nsmall groups, through touching, wearing and thereby activating them. By \ndonning these textile bodies, one is inspired or challenged to explore \none\u2019s habitual perceptions. It is a&nbsp;metaphorical invitation to \nget&nbsp;\u2018under the skin\u2019 and elude the clear distinction between self and \nother, inside and outside. Like a mise-en-abyme, these \u2018relational \nobjects\u2019 open a perpetual cycle of translation between self and other, \ninside and outside, looping from feeling to movement, to language, to \nform and material, and back to sensation.
