We’re looking for an intern!

wpZimmer is looking for an enthusiastic student to join our production team as an intern from 2 March 2026 to 5 June 2026.

As a production assistant, you will be responsible for the production preparation and support of the Beyond the Black Box Festival, including completion. You will follow the predetermined framework and modalities and take care of internal communication. 

Beyond the Black Box Festival is a three-day event and is a collaboration between several organisations. wp Zimmer and Monty are the two festival centres and the 5th edition will take place from 13 to 15 May 2026. 
As a production assistant, you will be responsible for the production preparation and support of the festival, including its completion. You will follow the predetermined framework and modalities and ensure internal communication.
You will carry out the following production tasks in close collaboration with the production and technical coordinators at wp Zimmer:

  • During the festival, you will be the point of contact for artists and crew regarding production questions.
  • You will also be the point of contact for volunteers (bar, security, cash desk, reception, etc.). You will assign tasks to each person per location and monitor shifts and work schedules.
  • Organizing catering at wp Zimmer: internal communication with caterer, listing requirements; number of people, dietary restrictions, allergies and intolerances, etc. ;
    • Coordinate and distribute access passes and drink vouchers to employees and partners.
    • Assisting artists at locations in and around wp Zimmer.
  • Collecting and following up on information in the designated documents (budget, planning, production sheets) in a shared online work environment.
  • Purchasing flowers for premieres, snacks and small supplies for artists and crew.
  • Supporting the production coordinator and artistic team in finding alternative festival locations.

PROFILE

  • Driving licence B required;
  • Problem-solving skills;
  • Communication skills;
  • Coordination skills and structured working style;
  • Enjoys a varied range of tasks with a lot of variety in the working environment; computer work, on location, telephone follow-up, etc.;
  • Comfortable with Excel spreadsheets & Word;
  • You are practical and not afraid of numbers;
  • Knowledge of the performing arts sector is a plus, but not required. Other experiences such as project management and event organisation are also relevant;
  • Fluent in English and Dutch;
  • As a production assistant, you will also be co-host of the festival at wpzimmer. Together with the team, you will create a warm and open environment for the audience and the artists. You will be helpful and represent the organisations; welcoming guests, sharing information, guiding the audience to the venue;
  • Availability of an average of 3 days per week, flexible work schedule – to be determined in consultation;
  • except full-time 02/03/2026 – 13/03/2025; onboarding with production coordinator and 11/05/2026 – 15/05/2026; festival period.
