230 meditational drawings

PROJECT

230 meditational drawings

In a state of trance and meditation, Kapinga has created a collection of small drawings, each filled with images she’s seen or dreamed. These drawings originate from her subconscious, a mysterious source of inspiration into which she’s eager to delve further. The series consists of 230 mini-drawings just slightly larger than a post-it size. She has utilized the graceful power of India ink, giving each artwork a unique and intriguing look. At the moment, this project is still in an exploratory stage. It’s not yet decided if these drawings will serve as preliminary studies for a larger work, or if, on the contrary, each will become a stand-alone mini-work. This makes the project an exciting “work in progress,” in which Kapinga lets the unpredictability of the subconscious guide her creative path. The drawings are an enigmatic and personal journey through my inner world. Now she uses this drawing to put this on little towels, as she towels to make these towels spiritually connected to practice my hand washing rituals.
