Antye Guenther
Antye Guenther is a visual artist and artist researcher, born and raised in East Germany. Drawing from her backgrounds in medicine, photography, and in the military, and highly influenced by feminist science fiction, her artistic practices orbit around themes like (non)biological intelligence and supercomputing, computer-brain-analogies and fictionality of science, think tank ideologies and body perception in techno-capitalist societies. Her work comes then in hybrid forms: performances, performative ceramic objects, fictionalised video tutorials, photo-text works, speculative scripts, artist publications, and narrative installations. Since April 2021 she a practice based PhD candidate in the Arts. Within her trajectory she aims to collaboratively investigate 3D-neuroimagery and 3D-neuroimaginaries, investigating in what intricate, and sometimes invisible ways, norms, hierarchies, biases, and (dominant) discourses are installed in the underlying imaging software, technologies and imaging practices, excitingly exploring ceramic practices and performance as othered oblique material research tools.
