In residence from 29 October until 11 November 2018
During her residency period of wpZimmer, Noha Ramadan will work further on her research around the notion of 'Haptic Technology' which is an umbrella term for a variety of practices based on touch, and dealing with the relations between virtuality, spatiality, and visuality. She wants to work in different ways on this concept with dancers (touch based movement research) but also with a cinematographer and lighting designer to work towards a video/performance installation. So, with the framework of Haptic Technology, the connection is made between the cinematic and the spatial-visual (from her last piece ‘Paratactical’) on the one hand, and the touch-based somatic practices in general on the other hand.
Noha Ramadan (Sydney, 1979) is a choreographer, dancer and performer living between Amsterdam and Berlin. Her work is underscored by (built through) an interest in language and choreographic experimentation, testing the relationships between things and their environments, between meaning and its collapse, and between dance and choreography. Aside from her own projects, she collaborates extensively with other artists as a performer and dramaturg.
